7 imagesEast London trio Throwing Up was formed from the ashes of previous band Headless in late 2011 by Camille Benett (guitar/vocals) and Clare James Clare (bass/vocals). Citing influences from Nirvana to female-fronted pop acts such as The Eurythmics they combine the obvious lairy punk thrashing with infectious melodies and carefree lyrics and are well worth keeping an eye out for. Currently touring with O Genesis label mates Hatcham Social supporting Charlatans' front-man Tim Burgess expect to hear more from this three piece.

18 imagesIf first discovered To Kill A King after photographing Bastille twice in the space of a couple of months and noticing the Dan was wearing a To Kill A King t-shirt both times. A quick google and I found the Raplh's Balcony series of videos on youtube and I was hooked. With this in mind it seems appropriate that the first time I get to photograph them they were supporting Bastille at Brixton Academy.

5 imagesAfter years of writing, performing, promoting, touring and not to mention producing a book & 10 original pieces of art for his last album 'Skybound', Tom Baxter was ready for some time out. So off he went to India for the best part of a year. "For the first few months I hardly touched the guitar but as the time went by it gradually became my closest ally again..." On return Tom made his way down to the South of Spain for a few months to follow up his yen to study flamenco guitar and later wound up in Paris busking on the streets. On arriving back in the UK, he moved all his belongings to the south Devonshire coast where he now lives and is working on his 3rd album -'GOLDEN'.

17 imagesI first saw Trombone Shorty a couple of years ago on a 4music show late at night while channel hopping. I've always loved a good funky bass line and I was hooked straight away. A quick check if the gig listings and I was gutted to find I had missed him playing at Manchester's Band on the Wall by a fortnight so when he was back in the UK to promote his album there was no way I was missing his live show again
